Domain Cancellation Process

• Login at registry.gov.in and generate Domain Name cancellation request letter.
• Print the Letter without any modification on pre-printed official letterhead of Signing Authority and upload the scan copy in PDF format on the Registry Site. The letter must be signed by the owner of the Domain (Administrative/Organisational contact).
• Domain registrar will verify your request and cancel the requested domain name and intimate the registered user through e-mail.
• The status of the domain name Cancellation request can be verified by clicking check status link at registry.gov.in

Domain submitted for cancellation takes 35 days for final deletion. For 30 days after submission for cancellation the status would be shown as "Pending Delete Status" and then for next 5 days Status would be "Delete on Hold Status" at https://registry.gov.in/domain_whois.php
